In pursuance of UGC (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Employees and Students in higher educational institutions) Regulations 2015, Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) is constituted as under to deal with the complaints relating to Sexual harassment at work place in NICMAR University Pune.

The Internal Complaint Committee at NICMAR University, Pune consists of the following members.   • NICMAR University respects the spirit of equality and has zero tolerance towards gender bias and sexual harassment of employees and students on its campus.
  • The University is committed to creating its campus free from discrimination, harassment, retaliation or sexual assault at all levels.
  • To deal with the matters of sexual harassment, the University has the mechanism of Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) who could be reached in case of any complaints.

Sexual Harassment includes

  • Physical contact
  • Abusive Sounds
  • Making sexually coloured remarks
  • Using sexually abusive language or signs in the presence of woman employee;
  • Showing pornography or the likes
  • Stalking
  • Vulgar/indecent jokes, phone calls, text massages, e-mails,
  • Implied or explicit promise of preferential treatment in her employment;
  • Implied or explicit threatening treatment in her employment
  • Implied or explicit threat about present and future employment status; or
  • Hostile work environment
  • Interference with her work
  • Humiliating treatment likely to affect her health or safety.

Timelines of Inquiry process

  • 1. Submission of Complaints – Within 3 months of the last incident
  • 2. Notice to the Respondent – Within 7 days of receiving copy of the complaint
  • 3. Completion of Inquiry – Within 90 days of complaint
  • 4. Submission of Report by ICC/LCC to employee/DO - Within 10 days of completion of the inquiry
  • 5. Implementation of Recommendations - Within 60 days
  • 6. Appeal Within 90 days of the recommendations
