Only those candidates who have paid the 1st installment of fee can apply for admission deferment before commencement of 1st year of the programme. Admission deferment can be approved only for one year.

4. Process for Admission deferment:
a.) Deferred admission may only be granted to first year students who have paid the required 1st installment of fees.
b.) The admission department will scrutinize all the applications and forward it with comments to concerned authorities for approval. The request to defer the offer of admission will be reviewed on case to case basis and will be granted depending on the reason stated alongwith the supporting documents. NICMAR’s decision with respect to this will be final and cannot be challenged.
c.) The letter of deferment of admission will be issued by admission department to the applicant.
d.) If the student does not join the programme in the subsequent academic year (after admission deferment) then his/her admission will be revoked and the fee paid will not be refunded. Further, the applicant, if still wants to apply to NICMAR, has to undergo the admission process again as a fresh applicant.

Additionally, 5% of total annual fee applicable to current academic year at the time of re-admission into the programme is payable as readmission fee after re-admission into the programme. For example: The student has paid 1st installment of fees and took admission deferment. At the time of re-admission into the programme the student will have to pay difference between new applicable fees for 1st semester i.e. 1st installment of fees for current academic year and fees already paid by the student prior to admission deferment. A student has paid ‘x’ fees as 1st installment of fees in 2023 and took admission deferment. He joins 1st semester in 2024. Current fees of 1st semester i.e. 1st installment of fees for the current academic year is ‘y’ and fees for 2nd semester is ‘z’. Then, amount payable by the student is Rs. ‘(y-x) + [5% of (y+z)]’.
