Recent advancements in Research & Development (R&D) across construction, real estate, infrastructure, and project management (CRIP) have significantly reshaped these industries, driving innovation, efficiency, and sustainability. NICMAR University, Pune is contributing immensely to these advancements and is committed to incorporating these advancements into our academic curriculum, helping our stakeholders stay updated with these research developments. Our faculty members and research scholars are conducting cutting-edge research in the areas of Building Information Modeling (BIM), modular construction, 3D printing, smart buildings, sustainable construction, lean construction, etc., and have presented and published numerous research papers in top conferences and research journals. NICMAR University, Pune has generous publication incentives and conference grants to encourage its faculty members to publish in journals of global repute and present their research works in leading conferences. Between July 2023 to June 2024, our faculty members published 80 research papers out of which 36 research papers received publication incentives as per the university publication incentive scheme.
The research project titled ‘Development of Digital Readiness Index for the Indian Construction Industry’ funded through the Vice-Chancellor’s Challenge Fund in the year 2023-24 under the Seed Money Scheme of NICMAR University, Pune aims at capturing the digital preparedness of the Indian construction industry. Other projects funded through this scheme are also aligned with the Indian government's priorities for the infrastructure sector. Four projects have already received funding under the seed money scheme and applications received for the next round of funding are at the evaluation stage. Our endeavor to work closely with the industry has helped us to stay relevant and ahead in providing innovative solutions to the industry and we are pledged to do so in the future also by contributing to a more efficient, sustainable, and resilient built environment, addressing the challenges posed by rapid urbanization and climate change.
We are excited to announce that NICMAR University, Pune has renewed the MOU with DigiQC to enhance construction quality with a focus on academic collaboration, joint research, and training programs.
The collaboration has been in place for a year now and has worked towards the promotion of awareness and understanding of quality standards and practices in the built environment industry.
The 78th Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August, 2024 at NICMAR University, Pune, with great enthusiasm. The ceremony commenced with a parade, where the dignitaries were honored with a grand salute. Following this, the dignitaries proceeded to hoist the national flag, symbolizing the pride and unity of the nation.
Dr. Anil Kashyap, President and Chancellor, delivered an inspiring speech in Hindi, while Dr. Sushma Kulkarni, Vice Chancellor, shared a motivational address, both stirring a sense of patriotism among the attendees. The celebrations continued with a cultural program, where students from various cultural clubs performed on patriotic themes, showcasing their talent and paying tribute to the spirit of independence.
Recently, Vice Chancellor, delivered a keynote talk on "Teaching Pedagogies in Engineering Education to Bridge the Industry Academia Gap" for the faculty of SGI University, Gurgaon, Haryana. A total of 100+ faculty attended the session.
She was also invited to the “4th Edition, National Skill Conclave, Maharashtra, hosted by APAC News Network, as a speaker for the panel discussion on “Academia-Industry Collaboration: The Academia Perspective” on 29th August 2024.
NICMAR University, Pune, organized its eighth International Conference on Construction, Real Estate, Infrastructure, and Project Management (ICCRIP) on August 23–24, 2024. This year’s conference emphasized six major categories: research papers, case studies, practitioners' perspectives, doctoral colloquium, hackathon, and editors’ conclave, with a special focus on Construction, Real Estate, Infrastructure, and Project Management (CRIP).
The inaugural function was graced by the Chief Guest, Mark A. Thompson, Ph.D President, Wentworth Institute of Technology Boston, MA, USA. The keynote speakers included eminent scholars and experts from the CRIP industry like Prof. Sergio Cavalaro, Associate Dean (Research and Innovation) & Chair of Infrastructure Systems, School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering, Loughborough University, UK, Mr. Jayant Kumar, Managing Director & General Manager- Hilti, India, Dr. Manoj Verman, Tunnelling & Rock Engineering Expert, Rocscience Representative and President, ISRM Commission on Hard Rock Excavation, and Mr. Ashok Lavasa, Former Finance Secretary of India and former Vice President Private Sector & PPP at Asian Development Bank. Mr. Vikas Singhal, Chief Operations Officer, Godrej Properties Limited, India graced the conference as chief guest of the valedictory session.

ICCRIP 2024 created an opportunity for its participants to interact and deliberate on emerging trends, issues, and practices in the CRIP sector.
School of Construction NICMAR University organized an expert session on 14 August 2024 for MBA ACM Junior Batch students. The expert speaker Mr. Bhooshan Dixit, Head, Product Management Division, Thermax Construction Chemicals delivered the session titled “Overview of Construction Chemicals”. This session was organized as part of the course 'Construction Methods and Technology.'
Another expert session was organised on 21 August 2024 for MBA ACM Senior Batch students. Advocate. Anirudha Joshi was the expert person and he delivered the session on the topic titled “Pre-Approvals before starting construction”. This session was organized as part of the course “Legal Framework of Construction”.
Mr Suhas Mistry, Founder of Samyak Realcon, Mumbai, delivered an enthralling lecture on Career Opportunities and Trends in the Indian Real Estate Sector on 9th August 2024, Friday, at NICMAR University. The lecture is a part of the lecture series 'Mastering Real Estate Management: Insights and Innovations' organised by the School of Real Estate and Facilities Management.
Students of MBA Real Estate and Urban Infrastructure Management, gained first-hand insights into the trends and Indian real estate practices from Mr Mistry. He also deliberated on the service gaps in the real estate industry that can be filled by future professionals and real estate entrepreneurs, thereby motivating the students.
NICMAR Business School (NBS) organised an industry talk session on ‘High Performance Work Culture’ with Mr. Nimesh Mathur, Organizational Development Consultant. The session conducted on 13th August 2024 for the senior MBA batch – HR specialisation students was based on an interactive hybrid format with Mr. Mathur sharing his varied experiences of a career spanning 18+ years, from being a Software Engineer at Cognizant Technologies to leading customer success at high-growth B2B SaaS start-ups like HackerRank, Pluralsight, and Branch Metrics before making an interesting transition to head People Success and Talent Acquisition at Jio Haptik. Mr. Mathur through his engaging Q&A format also shared his journey as a solopreneur since early 2023, consulting start-up in the areas of Organisational Development and People Advisory.
The Senior students of Master of Planning at NICMAR University participated in an exciting online workshop on August 12-13 on "Spatial Multi-Criteria Decision-Making in Transport Research" with Aditya Pitale, Prime Minister's Research fellow at CTRANS, IIT Roorkee.
The workshop included Deep delving into Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM), Application of Analytical Hierarchy Process, Assignment of scores in GIS, Creation of criterion maps, Spatial overlay and identification of suitable locations, Thought-provoking discussions on real-world applications, New perspectives and research skills to enhance student projects and thesis

From 28th July - 4th August, 2024, NICMAR University, Pune, hosted Udbhav 2024: Conquer the Royal Quest, an immersive ice-breaking event designed for our newly joined students. This event was more than just an introduction to campus life; it was a thrilling journey where freshers had the chance to showcase their talents and creativity across a range of domains.
The collaboration between mentors and mentees highlighted the true essence of team spirit. In the end, Group 7 emerged as the winner, with Group 13 securing the runner-up position.
The Anti-Ragging Week was observed on campus from 12th August to 18th August, 2024. The highlight of the week was a powerful Nukkad Natak performed by the MAD Club on 12th August that marks the Anti-ragging day.
The street play vividly depicted the harmful impact ragging can have on individuals. To raise awareness about the seriousness of ragging and its consequences, posters were strategically placed around key locations on campus.
On the occasion of National Sports Day, NICMAR University, Pune, proudly hosted a Badminton Sports Tournament on 31st August 2024, celebrating the spirit of sportsmanship. The event saw enthusiastic participation, with 8 teams competing in the men’s doubles matches. Dr. Darshan Mahajan felicitated the winners with the prestigious Major Dhyan Chand Trophy – 2024
The Career Services Department is excited to announce that we have received a significant number of Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) following the completion of the Summer Internship 2024. As of now, a total of 70 PPOs from 12 companies. Godrej Properties has provided the highest number of PPOs, with 41 offers, followed by Asian Paints with 6 offers and Tata Projects with 5 offers.
