Split-site PhD inauguration
On November 23, 2023, NICMAR University and Loughborough University, UK, jointly inaugurated a Split-site Ph.D. program. Loughborough University officials namely Dr. Jill, Dr. Steve Christie, Dr. Malcolm Cook, and Dr. Kirti Ruikar accompanied by other participants, joined the program in online mode. The distinguished gathering representing NICMAR University, Pune included Dr. Anil Kashyap, President & Chancellor, Dr. Sushma S. Kulkarni, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Rajni Kant Rajhans Dean- Research and Development; and Dr. Medha Joshi, Head-Ph.D. Program.

Symbiotic Collaboration
NICMAR University, Pune, and L&T EduTech officials convened to explore co-branded M. Tech. program in construction on November 29, 2023. These programs will offer students immersive learning experiences with real-time industry projects at Larsen and Toubro sites, paving the way for job opportunities with major infrastructure development companies including L&T.
Sustainable Diwali Celebration
The students of SOEE celebrated Diwali this year and gifted eco-friendly presents to their faculties. They presented beautifully crafted pots, perfect for nurturing plants and adding greenery to homes. The hamper also included stainless steel straws, promoting sustainability and reducing single-use plastic.
Diya’s, handcrafted from eco-friendly materials, added a touch of tradition while being mindful of the environment. They further encouraged the use of battery-operated candles instead of traditional wax candles, which is a brilliant way to enhance the eco-friendliness of one’s Diwali celebration.
Quality Week Celebration
The Quality Week Celebrations, organized in collaboration with digiQC, were successfully hosted at NICMAR University on November 8, 2023. The event aimed to promote awareness and understanding of quality standards and practices in the academic and professional spheres.
The event was graced by Honourable President, Dr Anil Kashyap, NICMAR University, Honourable Vice Chancellor, NICMAR University, Dr. Mrs Sushma S Kulkarni and Dr. Smitha Yadav, Dean School of Construction, and Dr. Rajesh Goyal, Dean Planning and Infrastructure. The event was coordinated by Dr. Amol D Pawar from the School of Construction.
The event featured informative sessions and interactive workshops focusing on various aspects of quality management, including best practices, and emerging technologies. A thought-provoking panel discussion brought together experts from academia and industry. Topics such as the role of technology in quality assurance and the future of quality management were explored, providing a comprehensive view of the subject. Students from NICMAR showcased their posters and online quiz related to quality management hosted by digiQC.
Faculty and Staff Achievements/Awards
Dr Mrs. Sushma S. Kulkarni attended the consultative meeting on “Operationalization of the National Credit Framework (NCrF) organized by the University Grant Commission (UGC), held on November 24, 2023, at New Delhi. This meeting was to finalize the SOP for implementation of NCrF as per NEP 2020.
Dr. Rajni Kant Rajhans, participated in a panel discussion representing NICMAR University, Pune on the topic "Research-Based Learning, Skill Development & Multidisciplinary Approach: A Robust Ecosystem in HEIs" on 24th November, 2023, Pune.

Oath-Taking Ceremony of Student Council 2023-24
The Oath-Taking Ceremony for the newly formed Student Council 2023-24 was held on 1st November 2023 at NICMAR University, Pune. Members of the Council were honoured with sashes by the Student Council 2022-23 as a symbol of exchanging responsibilities. The ceremony was graced by Vice Chancellor, Dr. Sushma S. Kulkarni as she shed light on the presence of a Student body at the University.
REVERBZ 2023
The 3-day cultural fest REVERBZ 2023 - Echoes of the Old Rhythms, flagged off on 3rd November 2023. The intercollegiate event catered to cultural, photography, and informal events for students from every domain. REVERBZ 2023 revolved around bringing the essence of nostalgia to the present and reliving the era long gone. Team 11 emerged as the winner of the event.
Constitution Day Celebration
In honour of Constitution Day, NICMAR University, Pune, commemorated the adoption of the Indian Constitution on 26th November 2023. The Preamble was recited by Dr. Yuvraj Patil, followed by a speech highlighting the rich heritage of the Constitution. The celebration ended with students reaffirming their commitment to uphold the ideology of the Constitution.
Participation in Wastewater Treatment Masterclass
NICMAR University congratulates S. Sriram, Smita Patil, and Yash Solanki (students of the School of Energy & Environment) on completing the online Masterclass on Wastewater Treatment organized by Ecotech Engineering Consultancy Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru. Their success is not only a testimony to their hard work but also to the collaborative spirit of NICMAR University.

PLACEMENT SPOTLIGHT
NICMAR University, Pune, had Eng. Mohamed Abdulghaffar Al Kooheji-Chief Operating Officer of Kooheji Contractors who is also a part of the royal family of Bahrain visited the NICMAR University, Pune campus along with key delegates for campus selections.
A few of the profiles offered were of Commercial managers - Estimation / Contracts / Procurement, Project Engineer/ Construction manager, etc. Our selected students will represent the Kooheji group in Bahrain as a proud NICMARIAN on a global platform.
