the promising opportunities ahead. The past year has been a mix of challenges and achievements,
and your dedication, resilience, and unwavering commitment have been the driving force behind
NICMAR's continued progress. Our collective ability to adapt across our campuses and in meeting
the diverse needs of our students has been truly inspiring. Together, we have not only crossed
obstacles but have also built our foundation, embracing innovation and collaboration at every
step.
Looking forward, 2025 offers a wealth of new opportunities. The higher education landscape at
NICMAR is evolving, presenting us with the chance to redefine our approaches to teaching,
learning, and industry engagement. This is our moment to deepen our research initiatives, expand
our outreach programmes, and cultivate an environment that fosters creativity, critical thinking,
and inclusivity. Let us pledge to this new year embracing change and encouraging one another in
everything we do. In doing so, we shall create an environment that promotes innovation, helping
our students grow into their potential and ready them for the future.
In 2025, I would like each one of you to take a moment to reflect on your personal goals and how
they align with the mission of NICMAR. The contributions you will continue to make will mould
this institution, and collectively, we will leave a lasting impact in our community and beyond.

The Honourable Vice Chancellor had a significant experience at the WEEF-GEDC 2024 conference themed "Engineering for Life." She participated in key events like the Inauguration Ceremony, Book Launch Ceremony, Strategic Planning Session, and Awards Ceremony. Additionally, she presented a paper and engaged in executive meetings with global leaders in engineering education. This enriching experience helped shape frameworks for advancing engineering education and research.
A session on “Psychological Counselling of Students” was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of NICMAR University, Pune on 9th December, 2024 at the mini auditorium. Ms. Pooja Inamke, an Industrial Psychologist from Pratyaya-Mental Well-being Centre was the expert for this session. The session was aimed at providing the faculty engaged in student mentoring with tools and techniques of student counselling.
The expert provided valuable insights on appropriate psychological support that students can deploy to navigate their academic and personal challenges more effectively, leading to healthier, more successful outcomes in their educational journey.
An FDP on ‘Quantitative Research Methods using SmartPLS’ was conducted by Dr. Ajay Kumar Chauhan, Founder at ResearchShiksha, at NICMAR University, Pune from 2nd to 6th December , 2024. The FDP was attended by 26 faculty members from various institutions. In the inaugural session, Dr. Anil Kashyap, President and Chancellor, and Dr. Anilkumar L. Agarwal, In-charge Vice Chancellor, emphasized the significance of emerging software tools in conducting reliable and sophisticated research.
This FDP was organised by Department of Research & Development in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Centre of Excellence for Academic Practices (CEAP).
The Centre of Excellence for Academic Practices (CEAP), in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Department of Research & Development, successfully organized a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on ‘Learning Assessment and Pedagogical Research’ for the faculty members of NICMAR University, Pune, from 25th to 29th November 2024.
Session on Pedagogy-Oriented Action Research was conducted by Dr. Preeti Baligar, Adjunct Professor at KG Reddy College of Engineering and Technology and former Director at the Centre for Engineering Education Research, KLE Technological University. Another session on Outcome-Based Education and Assessments was directed by Dr. Sophia Gaikwad, Head of the Symbiosis Teaching Learning Resource Centre, Symbiosis International University.
A practical session on Instructional Design and Assessment Using Audio-Visual Tools (e.g., Swayam, MOOC), was led by Mr. Ganesh Lokhande, Certified Instructional Designer. In addition, a thought-provoking session on Project-Based, Problem-Based, and Project-Centered Learning and Assessment, was steered by the trio from VIIT - Dr. Shreenivas Londhe, Dr. Preeti Kulkarni, and Dr. Pradnya Dixit.
At the end, a technical session on Generative AI and Prompt Engineering for Teaching and Research was engaged by Dr. Poorna Shankar, Dean - R&D at Indira College of Engineering and Management. This enriching programme empowered faculty members to innovate in teaching practices, refine assessment strategies, and explore new research frontiers. The active participation and enthusiasm of all attendees made the event a grand success.
NICMAR University proudly celebrated FIT INDIA Week 2024 with great enthusiasm and participation from students, faculty, and staff. The event was held in the week of 26-31 December, 2024 aimed at promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and a healthy lifestyle among the university community.
The week-long celebration featured a variety of activities, FIT INDIA Pledge, fitness challenges, sports tournaments, and games. Participants actively engaged in Traditional games, Cyclothon, and Other games making the event both enjoyable and impactful.
Dr. Prashant Dave, Registrar emphasized the importance of fitness in his inaugural address, stating, “FIT INDIA Week is a reminder of how essential it is to integrate physical activity into our daily lives. At NICMAR University, we strive to cultivate a culture of health and well-being for all.” The celebration concluded with a felicitation ceremony, where winners of various competitions were honoured. FIT INDIA Week 2024 not only inspired a commitment to fitness but also strengthened the spirit of unity and teamwork within the NICMAR community.
Dr. Pradeepta K. Samanta was invited to Co-chair two Technical Sessions at the 1st International Conference on Sustainable Finance (ICSF 2024), hosted by the School of Humanities, Social Sciences and Management, IIT Bhubaneswar in collaboration with National Stock Exchange (NSE) during December 6-8, 2024.
Additionally, he also delivered a talk on "Infrastructure Development for Vision Viksit Bharat @2047: Transforming India into a Global Economic Power" at Berhampur University, Bhanjabihar, Odisha on December 9, 2024.

On 7th December 2024, alumni from various batches gathered at the Courtyard Marriott Ahmedabad to reconnect, share experiences, and strengthen the NICMAR alumni network.
The event was graced by Dr. Jonardan Koner, Dean of Career Services, International Affairs, and Alumni Relations, Dr. Vandana Bhavsar (PhD), Head of Alumni Relations, Mr. Vijay Nishandar, Assistant Director – Career Services along with Mr. Manan Gupta and Mr. Amit Vadnere from the Association of Global Nicmarians (AGNI).
More than 65 alumni enthusiastically participated in the event and made this gathering truly unforgettable.

The journey continues as Association of Global Nicmarians (AGNI) PSC members reconvened with NICMAR University for the second follow-up meeting. Building on the momentum from the first round of discussions, the follow-up meeting focused on driving strategic initiatives to amplify alumni engagement, streamline operations, and create a unified platform for the global NICMARian network.
