Spread across two exciting semesters, the PGD HSEM program aims to develop qualified and trained professionals to manage safety, health and environment issues in developmental and operating projects with an array of competencies.
The PGD HSEM program comprises domain-specific courses on Construction Safety, Safety Management, Safety Legislation, Occupational Health, Environmental Management and Industrial Safety to develop sufficient knowledge of students to serve in the health, safety, and environment domain.
A host of pedagogical approaches, such as case studies, lectures, group, and individual exercises, etc., enrich the program delivery. Site visits are organized as and when required. Every student will also have the chance to complete a project that is associated with the health, safety, and environmental management domain.

Duration: One year full time
The first semester courses provide basic and fundamental knowledge in health safety management, engineering controls, legislation, occupational health, and construction safety.
This semester also offers a course on managerial communication to improve communication skills. The learners will also get an opportunity to select a MOOC course as per their choice of interest.

Know the applications of ergonomic principles and physiology of workers, elements of man-machine interaction to enhance workplace safety, human behavior and perception to create and promote a safe working culture.

Prof. Vishnu Namboodiri V, as Assistant Professor in June 2018. His area of research interest is related to energy systems and their optimization for build environments. He has 4+ years of industrial experience in the energy field. In reference to his academic profile, currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in renewable energy at IIT Delhi. He pursued M Tech (Master's) in Energy Systems Analysis, and Design from Government Engineering College, Kozhikode, Kerala, India, in 2015 and also holds an undergraduate degree B. E (Bachelor's) in Mechanical Engineering, from SCAD CET (Anna University, Chennai, India) in 2012. He contributed numerous publications in international journals in materials for energy applications.
